Title of Seminar:
Analysing Flight Recorder Data: Unveiling Human Factors in Air Accident Investigation
Details of the Seminar: In the seminar, Ir George WAI will provide an overview of the basic flight recorder systems, including the Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) and Flight Data Recorder (FDR), explaining their purpose and importance in accident investigation. The seminar will also highlight the significance of human factors in aviation accidents and incidents, focusing on crew performance, decision-making, communication, workload, and situational awareness. Moreover, Ir WAI will discuss the capabilities of the CVR in capturing crew communications, alerts and ambient sounds, and discuss how these recordings provide insights into crew actions and interactions. At last, Ir WAI will present methodologies for analysing human performance factors using CVR data, such as speech analysis, communication patterns, crew resource management, workload assessment, and decision-making processes.
Biography: Ir WAI has more than 26 years of experience in the aviation industry and he is an accomplished professional in this field, including 16 years in air regulation, airworthiness, safety and air accident investigation. Ir Wai currently holds the position of Aircraft Engineer in the Government Flying Service (GFS) in the disciplined unit.
